Good start, but much to do. After looking through the more lens of the camera I can see some obvious areas where bulk is definitely insufficient. I'll hit that first thing next week. I also need to do some research on knee structure.
And BTW, the epoxy putty was in addition to hammering in several wood shims. I didn't feel like I could get sufficient stiffness in the joint from just the shims, so I added the epoxy putty. Agree that alone it would be insufficient. I have both epoxy putty and milliput on hand all the time now -- epoxy putty is weaker but does harden faster. Milliput has more strength but takes several hours to harden. Both can be sanded and easily ground down with the ever-handy dremel tool.
