The base connection is 4 magnets attached to the bottom of the base that lock onto metal inserts in the white wood base.
Overall the piece is fairly light, but because I had no choice but to print the middle figure section via surface slicing, the center area was a bit fragile and needed a lot of repair / spot fill upon support removal. After final cleanup I wound up injecting the figures with silicon to add weight and strength without risk of filler expansion.
Still need to do some more detailing work on the figures / faces via black wax to better bring out the expressions.
