DS5 - GDS MODELING 801: WEEK 8

Progress

Trying (unsuccessfully) to not get discouraged at the lack of overall progress here...

This week I re-did both character poses and went about getting both transposed character meshes into the same file. That is one disadvantage of the zsphere rigging method -- all subtools are part of the rig, so if you are trying to pose against another object / prop, you're flying blind. If there's a workaround to this, I'd love to know it.

In the end, getting both meshes into relative position turned out to be incredibly time-consuming. For the most part (excluding hands and fingers) the poses are much improved from last week:

Figures in place with the proxy geometry:

Where the zsphere rig started to distort the figure I just deferred the translations to the transpose tool later. I did spend a ton of time cleaning up these meshes; I wouldn't call them done but I did a lot of work to try to correct the anatomy.

INSTRUCTOR FEEDBACK

Torque on the back of standing figure is too much. Try the pose yourself and see. Maybe, bring that leg down lower to account for the body bend in the hips also.

Overall posing looking much better. Atlas's pose is definitely working better. His left arm bent up like that makes more sense then what you had before. The other guy helping seems to be twisting too much from the waist to one side.
