DS5 - GDS MODELING 801: WEEK 10

Added a ton more detail and changed up some of the design motifs from last week. Also finished out the top cup portion.

All this geometry is 100% quad-based. The greek motif is definitely also quad-based:

Also spent some time cleaning up the file, grouping up and naming the thousands of parts:

At this point most of the duplication is instanced geometry. I'll have to convert to standard geometry and do some combining / vertex merging before sending over to keyshot for rendering. Design-wise this is where I'll leave it until the rest of the figurative elements are complete and in place.

SUNDAY UPDATE

Got into Marvelous Designer and did a first pass on the cloth for both characters:

Got both into zbrush, did some cleanup and panel looping for depth, then some tweaking here and there. Still lots to do but it's time to move to hair, expressions and the next stage in sculpting detail. I did do a number of adjustments on both characters to fix some of the issues we talked about (lowered leg/butt on Hercules, fixed up neck and back area on Atlas, etc.)

INSTRUCTOR FEEDBACK

This looks great. Good work. Topology is clean. If you did this in Zbrush it would have been millions of polygons.

Add loops along the inside of the cup so that there is no stretching.

Poses and cloth look much better. The anatomy on the poses is working better too.
