Picked up this chair from Goodwill for $5 a few years back. Finally getting around to refinishing it. It's a solid oak office chair from 1941 (original tag on the bottom had the date of manufacture.)

Final chair in situ in the sun room -- a friend gave me this original IBM Selectric II typewriter (what I learned to type on) and I bought the vintage typewriter table for it on craigslist. Refurbishing the table is the next project on my list...!

What's 4th of July without a barbecue? Our old grill has been on its last legs for a long time, so we did the research and identified a few good Weber options. Finally pulled the trigger and bought one: Weber Spirit II 215E.
Yes, you can buy them pre-assembled (at no charge), but where's the fun in that????

Fully assembled... Not the easiest task, but nothing will ever compare to the Greenhouse kit we bought 10 years ago:

Made 4 new shelves for the Granny Flat pantry. We bought the kitchen unit from Lowe's when they were selling off display installations. Given it's previous life there were a few rough edges and some items missing, namely the pantry shelves. I made new ones from some birch plywood, stained a honey natural color with 3 coats of polyurethane. The pre-drilled shelf adjustment holes were fubar, so I had to fill them and drill new ones that were a better fit for the hardware:

We've since pretty much filled this pantry up with our disaster food supply.
Also finished a painting, started a new sculpture, and made some good progress on my MFA thesis... more on those later.
