2020 HARVEST RETROSPECTIVE

November has arrived and the growing season has ended -- great time to look back on the year in produce:

Another great year for blackberries -- this sweet tropical variety never fails to yield more that we could ever consume. On the list for next year will be to find more friends that can help us consume the bounty:

Loquats (left) are always overflowing, but this year we had a good run of apricots too -- enough to do a few batches of drying:

Lots of pomegranates to enjoy, though they are a bit labor-intensive to shuck:

For the first time ever we had a decent Manila mango harvest. It was a nightly battle to keep the rats from decimating them and double-digit lives were lost in the end, but it was well worth the effort since you cannot buy these rare delights in any store:

Cucumbers big and small were consumed in large numbers. I generally like to make fresh pickle salad with these, particularly utilizing the amazing vinegars from Temecula Olive Oil company:

It's been a few years since we've had a good tomato year. I would say this year was amazing, but we did get a few good specimens along with some zucchini varieties courtesy the Gheres:
