GREENHOUSE SIDE TABLE

Rescued the base structure from the neighbor's trash pile -- in its last life it was probably a laundry basket, but only the base made it into the trash. The style and color matched the futon frame in the greenhouse, so I grabbed it, cleaned it up and repaired some cracks in the structure:

Built the table top structure from some spare lumber and 1/4 inch hardiebacker cement board, sized to fit just over and around the sides so that the top can be lifted off for access to the base's open center:

Started work on surfacing the top piece. Using leftover Creme Marfil marble from our master bathroom remodel to surface the sides and top. Each piece is a custom cut, so this will be a multi-week job, cutting and securing using mastick:

Corners in place and marked off for cutting out, but decided the marble was too fragile to support concave cuts:

Glass tile added and final grout:

Final assembled table in its new spot next to the futon couch in the greenhouse:
