Finishing up the greenhouse entry steps this weekend. The outside entry steps were more complicated than the inside threshold one, so this portion of the project took the better part of 2 weeks and had to be done in 4 stages to build up the structure and allow the mortar to set.
For the past few years the steps had been kluged via gravel and brick shims. Had to clear out the old mess first:
First course mortared in with fill blocks in place:
Fill completed. Added a line of blue glass beads along the edge:
Cut and laid in all the bricks for the step support radius:
Cut all the edge pieces and inner supports:
Mortared everything in:
Finally, added the top step pieces and filled in the middle gap, adding another line of blue glass beads:
Project complete!
