SMALL PROJECTS

I always wonder when I give people gift cards for Christmas, what did they buy?

This year I got some VERY GENEROUS Home Depot gift cards from my sister in-law which I just finished tapping into. Little wonder why Home Depot continues to have record earnings quarter to quarter...

Anyway this is what I bought and what I made with it:

Leveling sand -- Re-laid all the stepping stones in my japanese garden (see previous post on that laborious project...)

Landscape mulch & gloves -- freshened up the 'dog run' area after a fierce round of weeding:

Castors, misc. hardware -- made 3 more rolling plant stands for the deck, because you can never have enough rolling plant stands, right?

Wood, 1x2's and 2' x 4' MDF panel -- made the rigid canvas for my next painting!

Velcro strips -- forthcoming project to organize and display all my kung fu medals. Stay tuned.

Back later for a few more supplies:

Lawn staples to tack down the landscape fabric going underneath the stepping stones in the japanese garden and front entry when I get to re-doing that in a few weeks.

Wood filler to fix the damage our beloved little velociraptors did to the new deck trim while hunting a ground squirrel.

Green garden stretch tie for training up the blackberry vines after the fence support system is re-installed.

And the big one: 5 gallon bucket of Behr semi-transparent stain for the new backyard fence (see separate post on that project). This is the big-ticket item, but i've got enough left over to finish the future section of fence on the North side of the property when it's installed.

Here's that lovely final image again:

There ya go -- the money's all been spent, but the projects and supplies are still going strong!
